DIPLOMA IN MATERNAL CHILD BIRTH

Global health is a growing field in the area of public health, medicine, nursing, and other health professions. In the health sector, maternal and child health is one of the most popular specializations and is gaining attraction as an important aspect of development that explicitly includes two of the ten Millennium Development Goals. Maternal and child health helps to protect and promote the health of the mother and newborn child. Even though high-impact interventions are available, they are not reaching all of the women and newborns who need them.
Although facilities giving standard services for giving birth are on increase in all regions, health problems have been a major hindrance to socio-economic advancement in every economy. The issue is global and not a preserve of developing countries majorly due to ignorance. Evidence-based best practices in maternal and child health have transformed the conventional discipline into an interdisciplinary profession, creating a need for specialized public health professionals who are trained to focus on the holistic well-being of the mother and child.
To have a healthy working nation, then the healthy status of mothers and children should be checked, and despite many efforts and strides in the sector, statistics show that there are still deaths that are reported due to preventable and treatable conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth.   Current CDC data reveals that still, approximately 800 women die every day due to preventable or treatable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. 99% of this maternal mortality is in the developing parts of the world. WHO data for the year 2015 reveals that approximately 303,000 women passed on due to pregnancy or childbirth-related complications. In 2015 approximately 5.9 million children under five years died and 45% of these deaths occurred in the first 28 days of their life.
Professionals in the area of global health find telling stories of what has happened to be useful because stories go beyond the theoretical and are very practical if related to well by the audience. Practical applications of theories that are grounded in research help us to explore and understand some of the salient issues we should consider when implementing a new program or trying to evaluate the factors that contribute to the success or failure of an existing one.
