About SYCAC
SYCAC is a non-governmental and non-profit civil society organization established in Türkiye in 2012. The organization works to support conflict-affected and displaced communities through humanitarian action, early recovery, peacebuilding, social cohesion, empowerment of marginalized groups, and strengthening the capacities of local actors and community initiatives.
SYCAC currently operates across multiple areas in Syria, including Aleppo, through programs focused on protection, social cohesion, livelihoods, food security, and early recovery.
Objective of the Position
SYCAC is seeking a Field Project Coordinator to oversee the implementation of field activities in Aleppo and ensure that project activities are delivered according to approved plans, donor requirements, and organizational standards.
The position serves as the primary operational link between field teams and the Project Manager, with responsibility for day-to-day implementation follow-up, activity quality assurance, reporting, and coordination with local stakeholders and relevant authorities.
Scope of Work
The Field Project Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the following areas:
Project Implementation & Field Operations
• Follow up on the daily implementation of project activities in Aleppo
• Ensure activities are delivered according to approved plans and timelines
• Coordinate with the Operations Department to secure logistical and operational needs
• Monitor activity expenditures in coordination with the Finance Department
• Prepare regular field updates and activity reports
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
• Track project progress and activity indicators
• Support data collection and field monitoring processes
• Prepare periodic progress and activity reports
• Maintain organized project documentation and archives
• Report operational challenges and field risks regularly
Stakeholder Coordination & Field Representation
• Coordinate with local partners and community stakeholders
• Represent SYCAC in field-level meetings and activities when required
• Support relationship-building with local actors and stakeholders
• Share field updates and operational observations with the Project Manager
Team Support & Organizational Compliance
• Support field teams and volunteers involved in project implementation
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, Code of Conduct, and safeguarding procedures
• Adhere to organizational safety and security procedures
• Contribute to proposal development and operational planning when requested
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations Management
• Monitor day-to-day implementation and activity quality
• Follow up on operational requirements and implementation timelines
• Support coordination between field teams and internal departments
Internal Coordination
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and relevant departments
• Support coordination with Operations, Finance, HR, and MEAL teams
• Share regular updates on operational progress and challenges
Reporting & Follow-up
• Prepare regular progress and activity reports
• Track project indicators and implementation progress
• Maintain organized documentation and field archives
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certifications in project management are considered an advantage
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project coordination or field implementation within NGOs or humanitarian organizations
• Experience implementing activities in conflict-affected or complex operational environments
• Previous experience in Aleppo or northern Syria is considered a strong advantage
• Familiarity with donor compliance and reporting requirements
Technical Skills
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Good reporting and documentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes and data collection tools
• Ability to coordinate field-level financial documentation and operational follow-up
Languages
• Fluency in Arabic is required
• Good working proficiency in English is required for reporting and internal communication
